Merry Christmas and a very Happy 2015

This past year has gone in a flash! My maternity leave coming to an end has seen me take on more work, ever varied, which I look forward to continuing into the new year 2015. Some highlights include photographing The Charlatans and Ride for their new press shots, new commissions for Newsweek Europe magazine and an article featuring some of my new work in the January issue of F2 Magazine, out now. After the holidays I’ll be starting on a new and exciting project which I hope to be able to show on here soon! Until then I’ll be hanging up the Nikons (most days anyway!) and eating a mince pie or two. Joyeux Noel! XX

Luke and Charlotte Ritchie portrait in Marie Claire

Having shot the wonderful singer-songwriter Luke Ritchie a little while ago for his press and album artwork, he and his sister Charlotte, actress in channel 4′s hilarious Fresh Meat, came to me for some portraits to publicise a tour they were embarking on. It turns out Charlotte can sing beautifully as well as act (and in fact did so for 6 years in all-girl choir All Angels who sold many records according to this Marie Claire interview!)… I’ve so far only had the privilege of seeing them perform together once but would love to again, they were brilliant. Natalie Strachan Ceramics at the Lambeth Open this weekend

Artist Natalie Strachan has been creating beautiful ceramics which will be available to see this weekend at the Lambeth Open 2013 where artists and crafts people from the area will be opening up their studio doors for all to see. Tonight Natalie and others from her studio are having a private view ahead of the whole weekend where you can see the works, have a drink and a nibble and enjoy a bonfire! The perfect antidote to the dull weather that seems to be setting in for the weekend.

Peaky Blinders

Absolutely loving the new beeb production of Peaky Blinders (Thursdays at 9pm on BBC2), so much so that I gobbled up 3 episodes in one go on the iplayer after cottoning on rather late to the new show. The cinematically epic opening actually stunned me and it’s continued to not disappoint. Not only that but with a soundtrack full of Jack White and Nick Cave, it was enough to make me barf a little with excitement and go searching through my music library with such a determination not seen in a while. Highly recommended viewing – just what we need after the close of AMC’s Breaking Bad. It will help to ease that loss a little…

There’s a host of info on which also lists the music featured in each episode – genius!

October 2013 F2 Magazine Article

I’ve been featured in this month’s F2 Freelance Photographer magazine in the ‘Secret Weapons’ article! I’m not sure I’ve really given away many ‘secrets’ as such but I feel honoured to have been asked to participate! Many thanks to and to Gavin Stoker for the interview. It’s also given me the chance to show another shot of the lovely Lydia Baylis

The Strypes

In this week’s NME magazine, seriously cool Irish 4 piece The Strypes don the UPFRONT section in a shot I took of them in London last week. I’d noticed them during the BBC Glastonbury footage and had thought, hmm, I’d like to snap them sometime… Then the phone rang, what luck!
